Bianca and Joel’s wedding was held at the prestigious Ashridge House in August 2017. It was such a perfect day and such a perfect wedding Cake for the beautiful couple.
Majestically nestled in National Trust woodland in Hertfordshire’s rolling Chiltern Hills, and surrounded by 190 acres of stunning gardens, Ashridge House is the proverbial jewel in the estate’s crown. The turreted exterior of this Grade 1 listed mansion makes a lasting impression and the magnificent interconnecting function rooms provide an elegant setting for your special day.
The wedding cake was made up of 7 tiers of cake, all individually designed by Cakes by Babybelles along with the couple. The base tier featured a ruffled design in pink
, which was the brides favourite colour. This tier was very detailed with elegant hand crafted sugar ruffles. We also included hand crafted sugar flowers in pink and gold rose buds to add a touch of elegance to the flower arrangement. The couple also wanted a touch of mint, so we included some mint sugar leaves.
The next tier up was made up of sequins, all individually placed in the right position. This was then painted in edible gold paint. This really made the cake stand out and sparkle.
The Inspiration for the cake…
Cakes by Babybelles first met Bianca & Joel at the Hanbury Manor wedding show which was held at the Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club in Hertfordshire. They were immediately attracted to the bespoke designs Cakes by Babybelles were showcasing and immediately secured a date for a Cake consultation.
On the day of their consultation, we discussed many things including, the look and feel they wanted on their wedding day, favourite colours, textures and designs. Bianca also shared with me images of her wedding dress by OLEG CASSINI.
They definitely wanted a very texture rich glamorous wedding cake. What they wanted was a showstopper wedding cake, which I promised to deliver.
We also discussed and tasted lots of cake flavours and fillings. One of their favourite flavours was Peanut Butter, so I created a bespoke peanut butter cake for them to try. They absolutely loved this new flavour. The final flavours they chose for their wedding cake was Vanilla, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Salted Caramel and Red Velvet.
On the 4th tier of the cake, we replicated the design from the brides wedding dress. This really personalised the cake for them. It was a beautiful swirly design which they really loved.
Another key feature of Bianca & Joel’s wedding cake was the Gold Acrylic initials that was placed delicately on the 2nd tier. The acrylic logo was supplied by My design Station.
We delivered Bianca & Joel’s wedding cake to Ashridge house on the morning of their wedding. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we all worked together to ensure everything went perfectly. The luxury wedding cake was placed at the top of the stunning cantilevered staircase that majestically winds its way around the Main Hall. It just looked so beautiful. All the guests who arrived were in awe of the wonderful wedding cake with lots of selfies on the go.
Bianca and Joel’s wedding cake was definitely a very exciting project which we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of making, delivering and setting up. The couple were excited at the outcome of their wedding cake and as a result of this wonderful event, we became a recommended supplier to this top venue.
I hope I have provided you with some wedding cake inspiration…
